GIS Training for Natural Resources
UCCE Periodically offers an introductory workshop on forestry applications of GIS. This workshop brings participants up to speed on spatial data fundamentals while working through the suite of cartographic and collection tools. This 2 Days workshop features a demonstration of forest data collection using drone technologies, an open workshop session for participants to bring their own projects to work on with UC Cooperative Extension and Shasta College specialists.
This workshop has been designed for participants with little to no experience in GIS. Presentations and exercises introduced attendees to the basics of spatial data and types of analysis GIS may be used for, while using GPS and ArcGIS applications.
